Comments on: Rebol.org back up
Rebol.org website is back up. Credit card had expired, and Bo L. brought it to my attention. I wonder if it would make sense to move rebol.org to the same cloud server as rebol.net? What do you think?
PS: If you see any other servers go down, don't hesitate to point them out. Thanks.
What would be the difference between actual rebol.org server and rebol.net one?
Whatever makes it easy to keep running. And making sure someone has access to check on things or fix problems.
Wouldnt it be easier to just have something that monitored the website?
Say, a rebol script to read the web site every hour and if couldnt, then alert?
What about the KIS rule ? Does it better to keep/manage one or two sites ? I think one, updated, with fresh Rebol news.
It probably would be a good idea to move rebol.org to the same cloud server as rebol.net but who would do it?
rebol.org has basically run unsupported for the last two years. The credit for that should go to Sunanda who built the vast majority of the current web site.
I know that there was talk at the Montreal DevCon for a new team, with great ideas to improve Rebol.org, to take over responsibility for the site. A snapshot of rebol.org was made available to them shortly after the DevCon.
There has been no news since.
