The REBOL Virtual Machine (VM) is nearing completion. We just released the first official alpha test version for major OS platforms (yes, including OSX), and you can find it in the builds area here on REBOL.net. If you are an advanced REBOL programmer, please give the VM a try.

Before the VM is complete, there are still a few things we need to add:

  • Documentation (coming soon)
  • Opcodes to rotate integer bits
  • Memory protection (security)
  • Vector arrays for more efficient integer and decimal storage.

If you think we've forgotten something, please let us know. After release, it will be too late, and you may need to wait several months before we integrate additional features into the VM.

Note: The VM has changed a lot from prior blog postings. More docs are coming in the next day or so.
